NEBOSH Training course on Occupational Health and Safety
On 16 June 2012, Uy Nam Investment Construction Joint Stock Company (Unicons) in cooperation with Integrated Safety Solutions (ISS) from Singapore organized a NEBOSH Training Course on Occupational Health and Safety for Unicons Offciers, especially those who are in charge of safety works in construction sites. The training course is divided into two parts: Part 1 focuses on basic knowledge and Part 2 focus professional knowledge about safety. The first part lasts from 16-24 June 2012 under the instruction of Dr. Wahab, a professional in Occupational Health and Safety.

NEBOSH stands for The National Examination Board in Occupational Health and Safety which was established in 1979 in the UK. This organization offers examinations and issues International General Certificates (IGCs) on Occupational Health and Safety which are recognized worldwide. In order to get a NEBOSH IGC, learners have to study 2 parts of the course and pass an examination by NEBOSH which takes place in March and September every year.
At the course, Unicons’ Officers are provided with knowledge and practical skills conforming with the international standards. Besides, trainees are also raised questions about challenges, obstacles when executing safety standards in reality. These problems are discussed and researched in the course to find solutions to improve safety situation in construction sites.
The overall picture of NEBOSH Training Course
Mr. Nguyen Van Bang – Deputy Manager of Safety Department of Unicons said, “This course is helpful for me because it provides me with international system of standards about occupational health and safety. These knowleges and skills will help me improve safety thinking of people working in construction sites.”

This course aims at developing safety thinking for key officers who can motivate others in order to successfully build up a safety culture for the Company.
